The Boy Scouts was incorporated to provide a program for community services that offers character, citizenship, and personal training for the youth. Boy scouting is a year round program. Boys around 11-17 year of ages can achieve the core objectives of strengthening character, personal fitness and good citizenship. Young men 10 years of age may also join if they received the Arrow of Light Award or if they finished the fifth grade.

The endeavor of the Boy Scouts is to develop citizens physically, mentally, and emotionally. Having a high degree of self-reliance and as evidenced of qualities of initiative, courage, and resourcefulness are the personal values that are based on the religious concept. Having a desires and skills to help others and understanding the principles of the Social, Economic, and Government Systems are the criteria. Their heritage and understanding of the nations role is important. It is with keen respect for the basic rights of all peoples and prepared young people for leadership, is what the boy scouts is about.

The Boy Scouts have three objectives, which are commonly referred as the Aim of Scouting. The aims are achieved to emphasize the equal importance of each character development, citizenship training and personal fitness. Boy scouting is spelled out in the Scout Slogan to measures himself and continually tries to improve his place in his community. The patrol gives an experience in group living and participating citizenship. The boy scouts program encourages boys to learn leadership skills. The uniform of the Boy Scout troops is a visible force for good and creates positive youth images in their community.

The local council maintains and operates Scouts Jamboree every year, to give them a sense of enjoyment, fellowship, and a code of conduct for everyday living. The Boy Scouts offers to develop the Boy Scout to learn life from developing his self esteem. Learning from life is the school based program and a subsidiary of the Indianapolis Boy Scout. They designed the program to prepare youth for the complexity of contemporary society and also to enhance their self-confidence, motivation, and self-esteem. Exploring the program guidelines from Learning for Life is emphasized. All Learning for Life is open to youth and adults based on their gender, residence, sexual orientation and other considerations.
